FALMOUTH — Steve Woods, Democratic candidate for state Senate District 25, will officially kick off his campaign to bring progressive, pro-business ideals and creative solutions to the Maine Legislature on Wednesday, April 30.
Woods, seeking to represent Senate District 25, said the kickoff event is a “call to action.” He invited residents of the district to come and share their ideas and vision for Maine.
“Maine is an incredible place, but not just because of the natural resources and physical beauty,” Woods said. “To me, what makes our state most special are the people that I am proud to call neighbors and friends. Maine is at a crossroads, between ‘fiscal crisis’ and ‘economic growth.’ These are critically different paths. But talking about our challenges and knowing how to effectively manage them are two different things.”
The event will be held on the solar-powered campus of TideSmart Global, an international marketing company where Woods serves as president and CEO. The site features solar panels, one of the state’s first electric car charging stations and a vibrant campus recognized as one of Maine’s economic success stories from the last five years.
Outlining his economic vision, Woods will speak briefly about how environmental and economic progress are harmonious in a state where natural resources, tourism and quality of life are economic cornerstones. “Steve is a huge asset to the business community in our area,” said Falmouth resident and local business owner Tim Hooper. “We’re always interested in what he has to say.”
